Window Replacement Shortout Computer/Alternator?

Took my 02 Sequoia to have a new front winshield replaced. When i picked it up, I noticed the sunglass storage door was open but thought nothing of it. While driving home, at 65mph, a loud buzz began from either the rearview, or the overhead trip computer. Then I saw that my emergency brake light was lit, along with the abs, and other assorted lights in the gauge section. As i tried to accelerate the engine bogged, then the windows would not open.

So i called the window guy and told him the scoop, and asked if he may have shorted somethi g when sanding the rust spot under the window weatnerstrip. Not surprised when he said no way was it him. Come on now, it just happened? I have babied that ride since new, not missing any maint. Oil cha ge, or anything. And he says that my alternator just happened to die thT day.

Is there a diagnostic that can prove something nappened? Like he shorted out a wire or?????
I just can believe in a coinceden e like that.
Thanks folks!

No there is nothing you can prove unless you can find damage caused in the area they were working in.

I can`t see a short doing more then taking out more then one fuse..

Most times the hood is never opened when doing a windshield.

Did you figure out just what happened??

Found Out It Was Case of S.H.

Some coincedences are just too far out, I guess.....the town of Podunk here, where everybody must be close blood relatives by how they act, was told by a different business, but again, must be offspring of 1st cousins, that it was just bad timing in that the alternator burned out a half hour after picking it up.
SEIRRA HOTEL, I guess. Then he says it'll be $650 to fix it, w/three hours labor and the replacement alternator $260....which he says is the cheapest he could find. Told him I'd call back on Monday, hung up and called a buddy at the local Parts+, who ordered one for $121.00.
Can anyone tell how bad I'd like to get the hell outta here? I'm a 100% disabled Vet, (Inf., V.N.), so its tuff at times to get done whats easy for others....but , I'm going to see if I can charge the battery enough to drive it the ten miles home and try and do it myself.
Always appreciate the assists from you folks! Keep a good thought for my attempt!
