This is a OBD-II connector. Prior to the OBD-II, they were under the hood. I doubt that is it.

its not the OBDII port...

i want to say in the late 90s there was an alarm company that used a chip/plug that would not allow the engine to start with out the key/chip/plug installed... i want to think thats what it looks like. if thats the case it has to have been disabled since your able to start the truck without the key/plug there.

yeah I thought mabye it was for some sort of an alarm thing! I pulled the plastic that its mounted on and it dosent look factory goes to some sort of electrical box right below the stearing column.

sounds like an aftermarket alarm to me.... the plastic box is the brains of the alarm. i am sure there is some form of make/model info on the plastic box

haha I knew somebody was going to say that! Sorry the wires dont go to that box there just some wires grounded on the metal fram holding that box! That box has toyota all over it! lol lot of (BOX) right there.
