.

What are the largest driving light you could fit into your bar? Are Hella 500's the safest to go?

btw, anyone know the purpose of the driving light relay? Why not just control it with the supplied switch?

good enough reason. I was discouraged from them since they are 55w (I wanted 100w+), but I see some threads where people are putting in more powerful bulbs, so problem solved. I guess 500s are my best choice.

i think fogs would be better down that low and driving lights mounted on the bumper would be best and for 100 watt bulbs ive seen then for like 2bucks a pop

the reason to use a relay is that you don't want that dinky little switch handling all the current those lights will draw. You could end up causing a fire. Most switches aren't rated to handle the 10-15A or so the lights will draw(if running 55W bulbs).

I'm running a set of IPF 968's with 100W bulbs. they're great...it's a combo of a driving light and a fog beam, so I get both the pencil beam and a widespread pattern.

Fogs work best down there. I don't know the exact space the Hunter bar has, I have a Westin Safari and I managed to fit Hella 550 Amber Fogs down there.

The lighs are as follows; 7 11/16”W x 3 3/4”H x 3 1/4”D

Do keep in mind if you live/work in a city, and people parallel park..chances are that someone parks by touch, and when they park in front of you, the 'by touch' part means tapping and probably braking you lights. Make sure to recess the lights as much as you can and ensure they don't protrude, even a little.

I have the hella 500s and after a few months of driving I bought the pilot 100w bulbs and they are so much brighter than the 55w ones I think it cost me 10$ bucks for both bulbs now I think I might get one for the back up lights I have as well.

So is Ebay the cheapest place to pickup some Hella 500's? They have them for about $70 (with shipping).
