When I get out of my 4Runner sometimes the rear parking lights stay on. I have to check them every time I get out. Sometimes they turn off so it is a random thing that they are doing. It does not matter if I have had the lights on or not. To get them to turn off I have to put the key back in and turn it to ACC and then turn it off again. I have to do this a couple of times.

I have left them on for a while to see if they will turn off after a set amount of time but they don't. They also turn on when I TRY (yeah rear window does not roll down real well either), to roll down the tailgate window.

 

Possibly some kind of short or bad ground. First thing I would do is take off the rear lights and check the connections. Look for any broken or corroded wires/connectors. Start with the simple stuff.
