running light fuse blowing

i just welded on a custom flatbed on my 92 yota, i but in those round blazer tailightss you can get at kragens, theres two wires (it grounds with the mounting screws) i hooked one wire up to my brakes and running lights and the other wire to my blinkers, everthing worked fine then my running lights brake lights stoped working, i checked my fuse box, my brake light fuse was blown, and my running light fuse had blown and melted, alomg with part of the fuse box. i can still fit a fuse in fine, but evertime i put a fuse in (correct ampage) and i turn on my lights, the running light fuse blows, and so does the brake light fuse , wtf shud i do??? this is really starting to piss me off and i cant find anyone that has had this problem before. im getting ready to say ˟˟˟˟˟ it and wire my brakes and lights to seperate switches and just hit the switch whenever i push in the brake pedal lol PLEASE HELP

Did you use a trailer light converter (or diodes) with those lights? If not, probably will fix the problem.

With all of the welding that you did on your truck it's possible that a hot piece of metal melted your rear wiring harness causing a partial short. Powering up the light circuits after you completed your body fab with the partial short would cause the heating and melting that you found. Eventually all that heat will cause a dead short which you have now where the fuse blows immediately. Your rear harness plugs together with the main harness under the passengers seat. You will have to start checking for the short from there back. You will either have to isolate all of the rear lights or remove the bulbs as a bulb in the circuit will give you a current path and show up as a short.
