Replacement Fog Lights

Let me start off by saying I have a 99 4Runner Ltd with factory fogs. However when I got the truck the driver's side fog had a crack in the glass causing the bulb to blow out every few weeks. I got tired of replacing the bulb all the time and have now just shut the lights off completly.

After reading through some threads I found out about the Hella 74560 Micro's that look like a cheaper, pretty direct swap. However the more I read about them, the more I saw about corrosion and other problems causing them to blow out... While I realize its cheaper than OEM, I don't feel like being in the same place, replacing them every few months.
However maybe this isn't as big of a problem as it appears??? Feedback?

I can't see spending almost $400 to get 1 drivers side OEM fog light considering they don't do much anyways.

Not looking to put big hella 500s or anything similar on the truck either, as I want to keep it stock looking.

Checked the local yard and they have no 4runner ltds for me to take the fogs from either.

Suggestions on what to get??

Thanks

The Micro DE's are great. I haven't heard anything about corrosion, but there is a problem with water from the tire hitting the back of the lamp causing bulb burnout. aowRS developed a splash sheild to solve that problem though

Hella Micro DE's are the OEM light. You can find them online in a kit and just the lights. I'm sure eBay might have some stuff as well.

tell us where you're at

we may be just around the corner with the part you need

as okie says no matter what you buy you may have same issue so do the splash shield deal if you are going to stick new parts in there.

Personally I think those wimpy fogs are kind of useless anyways- not to offend you all. Yank that pretty bumper and go whole hog with ARB bumper up front c'mon

Maybe it would be easier to take the other one out and just cap the cutouts? I dunno...
