Thumbs down Random Led???

I have a 1989 pickup and there is a red led light under the button for my hazards. I have no idea what its for or if its stock. My only guess is it might be a shift light but it has never once turned on in the year I have had the rig. Any suggestions as to what it is or if I should be worried that it dosent work.

my vote is it is purely cosmetic, is factory and is a "theft deterrent" light. Let's see if I am right. hehe

From: Bryan Tx,
Looks like it might be part of an alarm maybe?

Oh thats cool. Previous owner? Pull the panels, follow the wires?

EDIT: other two posters have a good point, didnt think of that. Does it blink when you set your alarm? Do you even have an alarm? Did the previous owner?
