quick question about drl

90 4runner. Does the drl system just light up the headlights or does it light everything (markers, dash, headlights)? And is there a write-up to disable them? If there is I can look it up myself...unless someone has the link handy

I dont know the link, but if you look in here...http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-buchanan/93fsm/
find the lighting section, it will show you where the drl box is, I believe all you have to do is un hook a plug.

Thanks I found the schematic and it helps somewhat. It appears that under drl operation the headlights are on 85% and the taillights are illuminated. The problem with my truck is every light is on 100%.....and setting the parking brake before starting the truck does not disable the system. I believe this is why I can't get my remote start to go into ready mode (manual)..I disabled the drl by cutting the black/orange wire at the relay but now I'm curious as to why it was doing that. Any ideas?

well I got the remote start working. It was a combination of an intermittant hood switch and I didn't have the secondary ignition hooked up so that is solved. Still wondering if something has been modified or broken to make all the lights operate under drl

Push switch

Know where the least expensive place I can buy a push switch to turn DRLs on/off like in Corey's write-up? Please don't tell me to search cause I have.

first place I would check for an OEM switch like that would be a dealership, the part number is right above the picture of the switch...
