question about pre-amp hookup in 2nd gen
I have a 91 4runner. I'm upgrading my stereo system and I just want to know if it's better hook the rear speakers up though the pre-outs on the head unit or just through the rear wires on the unit. It sounds louder through the rear wires but I'm not sure if it will damage the factory pre-amps this way or not. I can run RCA cables to the head unit pre-amp sockets. What's best?

dont run the speakers directly off the Pre-outs, i dont know how you would even do that.
I'd run all the normal speakers off the head unit if you arent looking for anything super powerful. If you are looking for something super powerful, run the pre-outs to an amp, and run the amps to speakers all over.
