new fuse box
My old fuse box (86 truck, mostly stock, behind the drivers foot well) had a cheap fuse fail to open. Years ago. It destroyed that fuse holder and that wire. No sweat, replaced the wire and moved that circuit to a different location on the box. Worked fine for years, but the box is a mess, loose fuse holders, difficult to work on. I want to replace the box with one that has ten circuits, and an LED comes on to show the location of a blown fuse. Sweet. Has good ratings on Amazon. The issue is that this box is not divided into 3 separate feeds and their attendant branch circuits like the original box. With this box all incoming is to a single location which feeds the entire fuse panel. If I bring all 3 feeders into that central feed and go out from the different fuse holders with my branch circuits I can't see, electrically at least, where anything would change. Perhaps a somewhat different current flow as the current divides among the 3 feeders. Branch circuits should be identical. My issue is what those feeders may be doing other than simply showing up at the original fuse box that may create a problem if I parallel them together as a single feeder for the new box. Any ideas? Oh, the turn signal relay and flasher will remain as is, affixed to the new backer panel.
