Kenwood 1800w Amp, shutting off?

wire from amp to subs is 8 gauge i believe. 10gauge at the smallest.
wiring from battery to amp and my ground is all 4gauge.
i believe it's the fact that my amp sucks like 55amps of power, (what is says in the manual i found i crutchfield i believe), and my electric fan sucks about 11amps. and my stock alternator puts out 60amps max.....soooooo something doesnt seem right here lol.
believe i need a big ole chevy alternator.
