How do I keep my lowbeams on when I turn on my high beams

As the title suggests. I have a 2008 highlander hybrid, and I am wondering if there is a way to keep my normal lights--low beams and fog lights on when I turn on my high beams? The factory setting is to turn all other road illumination lights off when I turn on / flash my high beams; Can I change that? And how do I change it? It triggers my mildly OCD side, and is also nice because it provides extra lighting when I need it.

If you get a copy of your vehicles wire diagrams from Toyota You will be off to a good start.

The hard and interesting part will be how to keep the high beams from coming on when you turn on the low beams

Enough said without having the wire manual in front of me.

Enough time and $$$ you could make it work but is it feasible

To bad vehicles do not work anymore like my 2nd gen 4Runner did.
If you pushed the light stalk halfway towards high, it would turn them on and leave the low beams on too.
It provided quite a bit of extra light.

Yeah, I've used that feature on my 2nd gen many times. I would like to set it up so I can keep both on as well one day, rather than hold the lever in that position.

That's what I'm looking to do
Its like: I have to choose between seeing whats in front of my face, or seeing whats off in the distance... not both - not desirable

I would suggest it's probably easier to just wire up some supplemental driving/fog lights than to mess with the factory setup. Hella for example makes a combo driving and fog lamp and you can pick one or the other with a 3 way rocker driving/fog or off.

Then you have independent control of those and can have them on with low beams or highs. Some even come with the "clicker" style remote wiring setups so you can minimize wiring hassles.

You could run another power wire to the low beam with a relay on it that is tripped whenever the high beams are turned on.

when I did my "upgraded" headlight wiring harness, somehow my low beams now stay on with high beams. Sorry can't tell you why, but it is nice.
