Has Anyone Done This?

I have a Thule Playpen Basket on my Runner and I want to put some lights her. The problem is that my basket has the fairing and the only way that I've found to mount them would involve me removing that beloved part. Is there another way that I'm missing? Thanks guys for your help!

You could prolly fab a bracket that comes out below the fairing and mount lights infront of the fairing. or you could cut holes in the fairing. Some pics could help.

Also, just to jack my own thread, does anyone know of any off-road shops in the Knoxville, TN area?

same thing

I have the same setup. I made two brackets out of steel plate that I mounted to the load bars. They sat right beside the basket and looked much better than on top of the basket (tried this way as well). The bracket was nothing more than one 8" x 2" piece of sheet and one 6" x 2" piece of sheet that I clamped together around the loadbar. Drill a hole in teh longer piece to mount the light. The best part about it was that I could still get under the bank drive-through. I have since taken them off of the bars as the glare from the roof reflection was annoying. The new mounting place will be on the side-view mirrors.

ok you are talking about the bars that the basket sits on, I'll take a look at that and see how it suits me. Thanks for the idea!
