Ground ???

I'm guessing I have a ground. When I hit the brakes the left turn signal goes solid. If not on the brake the park lights work fine, also the turn signals. I switched all the bulbs out and no change. I know I'm going to have a hard time with this. Was just wondering if anybody knows where to start, or have had the same problem.

start with a multi meter! You most likely have a bad wire(or 2) somewhere, Its not hard to find/fix, but does take some time, and patience....

Any certain place I should start? I figure hold the brake down and start working my way back with the park light first. I was wondering if any body had any ideas on where to start or maybe a problem area that had this as a common problem.

has it always done this or did it just start? If a recent problem, was anything modified prior to the problem, i.e. new radio/amp/CD player/CB radio installed, or a trailer wiring connected added, or bulbs changed, etc.?

Sounds like it could be a corroded socket on the left brake light tail light socket.

Try cleaning that good with electrical cleaner and a fitting brush.

Also it would be nice to know what year??

As the older tail lights grounded to the outside of the socket.

Missing Ground?

I think you have two "hot" leads : signal and tail/brake lites feeding to one bulb with a common ground, or to two bulb sockets grounding through one lead. If the ground is not good, when you apply brakes for instance, the two "hot" signals cancel each other out? I found that cleaning the ground to the socket did the trick.

Hope this helps
