Thanks guys! I really appreciate the feedback. I'm so excited about getting it done... it really does make a difference at night as you can see, the beam is WAY more evenly spread. 914Runner, I actually found a thread where you were asking about some bi-xenon projectors like in '04 heh heh. I have bi-xenon, I'll get some pics of high beam tonight. Ebelen, I would like to do it for cash, but I don't have a whole lot of time, so it would take a while... if you were to buy some aftermarket, or extra housings for me to do it in, then I would consider, but I wouldn't want to inconvenience you in anyway by having your original lights... Thanks again guys!

Hm... this is getting very tempting. If you guys buy the parts, we can talk. I'm only going to do one job at a time though. Also, prices will depend on difficulty of instal, but it will be pretty simple. Single xenons are easier to install and cheaper (for the most part) to buy than bi-xenon projectors. If you don't care about high beam, then I recommend single xenon... but if you're like me and like flashing people to turn their lights on, or tell them to get over, then you'll want a bi-xenon projector. PM me with any questions, or desires of h.i.d. and I'll see how I can help. I just don't have the money to buy the stuff, put it together and sell it... Also, if you buy it from someone as a seperate part, that would reduce mark up considerably. But who am I kidding,
therefore, I would see it as helping you out as friends and not customers!
Here's the cost chart of my retrofit (excluding shipping):
$200 2 MatsuĊĊĊĊa (mah- tsoo-shee-tuh) ballasts
$150 2 Bosch E46 Bi-xenon Projectors
$60 2 Philips 4300k h.i.d. bulbs
$60 for miscellaneous items (wire, wire connectors, relays, etc... I just didn't have any more supplies so I had to buy some)
$40 for Pilot clear lensed DOT approved 7x6 housings.
So a total of $510 approximately.
You can find parts for cheaper. I bought the ballast brand new. I've found cheaper prices on Bi-xenon projectors (like $125 shipped for FX45 projectors almost like Bratik used for his retro). Hidplanet.com has a bosch package that's a really good deal, granted it's only single xenon, but you can email them to see if they have any bi-xenon in stock.

In the projectors that I used (as well as other BI-XENON projectors) there is a solenoid that, when activated, moves the cutoff shield out of the way to allow all the light from the bulb to project through the lens. With the cutoff shield in place, it blocks the light from projecting too high. If you look at Bratiks's write up (search Bratik), he installed FX45 Bi-xenon projectors into his 3rd gen. I'd assume it's somewhat easier on a third gen since the headlights are bigger and deeper.

That looks really good! I plan to swap in Bi-Xenons in my 3rd gen sometime in the future.
