Thought I would post this since I couldnt find a thread and hope it will help someone. My temp gauge started reading hot after driving for a while. Gauge would move a lot. Normal then to hot (in the red) and back. After replacing, thermostat, fan clutch and temp sender, it was still acting up. So I tore dash apart and took gauge out. Under magnifier I saw solder was broken under the diode. Cleaned up and re-soldered, working great now. But wish I would have done this first. Hope I could help future frustrated 4R driver
