Electrical Mods for 2nd Battery system

I finally finished off two wiring projects.

First was adding an under hood cig lighter outlet. I found one at Wal Mart that seems at least fairly water resistant with a spring-loaded lid and a rubber gasket.

It will give me easy access for most accessories when I am outside the truck as well as a nice place to plug in my 55 watt solar panel for recharging.

I also installed two 30 Amp DC breakers to handle my two outlets that I installed in the cargo area.

The breakers look like this

And protect the two outlets I installed in the back, next to the factory outlet

A breaker question ... I have ones like yours, which came with a "Painless" kit --- but didn't come with rubberized covers. Was thinking that they might be a risk for shorting (i.e. after hitting a big ass puddle, etc) ... any thoughts? And where did you get the covers? Nice work, by the way.

I actually bought all of the breakers and covers from Dibble9012 so we can see if he remembers where he got them.

I also went to West Marine and bought nice covers for the battery posts that cover up the wing nuts too. I'll try to add a picture once I am back from Death Valley.

Thanks to everyone for all of the compliments!!

I bought all of them from www.waytekwire.com, only downside is you have to buy in bulk. I might have some more left over somewhere if you are interested (the covers).

What gauge wire did you use with the breakers? I believe it should be 10 or 8 gauge.
