every time i get out of my truck i get a really bad static shock when i close the door (like when someone rubs their socks on carpet then touches you) and it is getting really anoying.

my question is what could cause this and how might i be able to fix this or is it pretty much normal?

 

That happened quite often in my 90 Camry. But has yet to happen in my P/U.

best solution in my experience is the grouding strips that you hand off your bumper or chassis to touch the ground when you stop.
