From: I live in New Tripoli Pa out in the woods
There is a place called ECM Depot 888-326-1441 /// 972-988-9922
I came across them looking for the computer on my 7.3 power stroke I have not gotten to that stage in buying yet.
From what I read you get a core value for your unit and they sell you a rebuilt one.
like all else do some more research about what these cost new and go from there.:wabbit2:

clicking ecu?
While driving uphill with a load my truck will occasionally make a tickity tick noise comming from the ecu area, accompanied with a stall or near, it respondes to some goosing of the gas.
Any advise would be great

If you would read the post once more before you go off the deep end, you will see (as I did) that Dropzone deleted it for derogatory remarks which some are stated as the reason.
Dropzone is a moderator on this forum. He's one of the guys who make sure that the posts are on topic, not abusive, nor discrimatory.
The guys like Dropzone who look after this forum do a great job of trying to keep the idiots from ruining it for the Toyota enthusiasts that are here to actually help one another out. When you cool down it would be an honorable gesture to apologize!
Now to your question, it would help to know what vehicle you are talking about!
Your circuit opening relay (cor) is close to your ECU, have you tried looking in that direction. Relay coils generally burn open and no longer function, but I have seen relay coils get weak and not hold the contacts together. That might be your clicking sound. Next time it happens look for things that stop functioning, such as your heater motor, dash lights, etc. Anything controlled by a relay.
I feel so welcomed to this forum by this ahole dropzone why dont you come visit Hawaii and I will drop your ass

My most sincere apology for any disturbance I may have incurred to this great forum. Thanks for your suggestion, would that" limping relay" be causing the power loss?

circuit opening relay/ water damage
Once again I would like to apologize to dropzone, looks like it was a misunderstanding on my part, these spammers are rampant, thanks to hadmatt for the advise, coming back from a trip to the beach, my truck started making the tickity noise, it lasted long enough for me to locate the noise source and sure enough it was the circuit opening relay, I priced it, spendy, 130$, I oiled the contacts and went for a drive and no noise, looks like water has been getting on the cor, I relocated it, I have some body work ahead.
Thanks for the help

Really appreciate dropzone and the other moderators here. I have left the diesel site because spammers were making over ninety percent of all posts. You wont find that problem here BECAUSE of the moderators dilligence.
