changing turn signal switch

the turn signal switch on the stalk has started acting goofy; just wondering how large a pita it is to change it?

easy, take off the plastic cover on the steering column, take out the two screws that hold it in, unplug the harness, replace with new part

How is it acting, does it seem like an electrical problem, or is the cam not returning the sick to the center position after a turn? The plastic cam that controls the return can wear out- it probably isn't expensive.

the stick feels sloppy, as if something's wearing out in there ; when i hit the turn signal, my high beams momentarily flash on; it happens more when i'm just changing lanes and i don't fully engage the turn signal.
