Can I wire a relay this way??

Ok my paint skills are horrible but i think it gets the point across. what im thinking is run the main positive and the trigger positive directly to the battery and then run the ground wire through the fire wall to a switch then to a ground to trip the relay. I want to do it this way so i have a ground wire running through the firewall and stuff and not live wires. will this hurt the relay in any way?

should be okay, only need to run one (fused) wire to relay, and a jumper to trigger positive, but your wire going to switch will still be "live" between the switch and the relay either way

ill prob fuse the main power feed form the battery with a 30 amp fuse because its a 30 amp relay(or should i run a 25?). the relay will be right next to the battery so im not too worried about shorts. can wait to get my hid spot light all wired up now.
