A/C / Heater Fan Control on crack

Hey. This question is about my 85. The fan speed selector has 5 positions, including off. the lowest two dont do anything at all (the fan stays off), and the higher two turn the fan on the higher speeds. Does this sound like the fan speed switch is bad or are there more problems? is this a common problem? thanks

Can't tell you if it's a problem but I can tell you that I have a similar issue.
My guess is that it's just wear/tear. Then again, I have no A/C or heat so I'm not really all that broken up about it.

I discovered that all the fan will do for me is pick up a lot of dust and throw it right back at me when I turn it on.

On the website, it says "Here's a p/n for an '86 4Runner: 88635-89103 (4-speed fan" I'm guessing my 85 would have the same part number?

Thanks for the help

The part listed above the '86 and '89 parts is the one I used in my '85 4Runner.
