bulb covers for dashboard

So i was wanting to change my interior lights to blue instead of the green that my 98 4runner came with. this includes, climate control bulbs, dashboard backlighting, shifter, clock (if possible), and ac button. I think that is it. now i see you can buy leds, #194 and 74 i think but they have a spotlight effect which i don't want. and i read that the factory bulbs just have a green cover-condom thing on them that you can slip off. would i just be able to replace them with a blue cover

http://www.autometer.com/cat_accesso...l.aspx?vid=110

these are all i can find but not sure if they would fit. if anyone has tried this please let me know what happened.

thanks

if you search around on here, there was a fellow (can't remember his name) did an awesome conversion. if your LED is properly rounded, hot spots shouldn't be an issue. yes, you can remove the little condom thing, but as far as I know, you can't get them anywhere else.

personally, I want to go LED myself. not sure which color though.

Ditto on the LED conversion, eventually. Found this post, maybe what you were talking about?

close but not quite. someone had a write up with pics, even re-lamped the window switches, with instructions. I believe it was a 3g runner.

Fo_sheezy did this to his rig I belive. You can change almost all the lights except the clock..

Superbright makes LED's that have 5 little leds facing different directions, this will elimiate ALL hotspots. They are pretty big so they wont fit everywhere.
