Blower Motor?
Alright, first yotatech thread (yay... kind of)
Yesterday was the first day i drove my 1990 4runner, and the fan (blower motor) for the AC stopped blowing... I checked the fuses, they are good, and i can hear the relay clicking. It does not blow on any setting. Every once in a while when i try to click it on the AC button lights up for a second then turns off and does nothing. Any suggestions? Bad blower motor?

Likely worn brushes, mine would do the same:

Pull the motor out and see if it needs cleaning, lubrication or new brushes (if you can get it opened up).

ok i had to wait till today to tear into it, and i've got nothing... I checked the motor after taking it out and it works with 12v... I'm assuming my switch works becaus i can hear the relay clicking and i know my resistor pack is good cause i swapped it with one of my friends trucks and it works. I literally spent 6 hours trying to figure it out myself today but no luck... and to top it off, my stupid ADD wont engage as of tonight... any help would be nice

Are you getting 12 volts at the motor ityself through the factory wiring? And check the voltage at motor when you try to turn it on. If the voltage drops way low then there may be a bad component in the wiring. And on the relay, just because it clicks does not mean it is working. Relays have a coil that pulls in the contact, that maks the clicking sound you hear. Then it is the contact that send the current through to the motor. If the contacts are pitted or dirty they may not be making good contact. A voltage test should tell if that is the case.

I am getting no voltage through the factory wiring at the blower motor, thats why it doesnt work lol... Does anyone know where the ground is located for the blower motor? (thanks 4crawler i think you are the only person that cares)

Measure resistance from the blower motor connector to ground (any clean body metal) and see if there is continuity (i.e. 0 ohms). If so, figure out where the power is going. Basic stategy is to divide the circuit in parts, check at one point, if OK, then things upstream are fine (and thus can be eliminated), problem lies downstream. Then move in the direction of the problem and keep dividing the circuit down and eliminating the part that works until you find the cause.
