Yep, I've done it. When you do this mod it will give constant power to the rear outlet as well (in the cargo area).
Make sure not to drain your battery.

I did mine, but I wired them up to my aux battery so that I wouldn't accidentally drain my starting battery.

Anyone know how to get the cig lighter constant also. I've done this mod and it doesn't include the cig lighter...unless I've missed something.

Nope... you haven't missed anything. Assuming you are talking about your '99 4Runner (which I got from searching through some of your other posts... you should really enter your vehicle info into your signature so that it shows up automatically after every post.)

The cigarette lighter is on a separate circuit. It gets its power directly from the 15A ACC fuse, which is energized directly from the ignition switch. There is no relay you can jumper for this one. You can just grab a new 12V supply from your battery with an inline fuse, run it into your cab through the firewall grommet, and connect your cigarette lighter to it instead of its current supply.
