My airbag light came on a couple of days ago and I took it to the dealer and they wanted over $1000 to fix it. The codes were B1100 and C1336. This is a 2004, never wrecked 4 runner with 46,000 miles on it. Isn't this charge excessive and the vehicle is only 4 years old!

 

You don't have a warranty?!

 

The warranty went out at 36,000 or so they say. I have had 7 toyotas with no major problems and then this on a 2004. Can you think of any options?

 

Good news. They decided everything was under warranty after I showed them my warranty book and contacted toyota.com. They even provided a rental car while they were fixing the thing. Interesting what can happen when you ask a few questions. Wonder how many people they screw out o the $1000 bucks?!

 

That is good news! At least you got it fixed. Things like that should last well past 46k miles.
