81 4x4 electrical problem

Exclamation 81 4x4 electrical problem

i have headlights,turnsignals,flashers,radio...........no heater fan,no reverse lights,no gauges or warning lights,trucks electric choke not working,high idles constantly. alternator is working fine. i'm stumped......any suggestions?

fuses all good? Fusible Links? Relays? Check the choke per service manual instructions.

either the relays are bad or the headlights, taillights, and flashers are in 2 relays mounted together with 1 plug under the drivers side dash, check if thats connected

OK, I tried scanning the wiring diagram out of my '81 Factory service manual. you will have to print them and piece them together as I could only do 8x11 at a time, I hope this helps you out :

thanks guys, replacing the voltage reg today to see if it helps. if not diggin into my bently manual. i think it may be a short or ground problem if the vr doesnt fix it

Mine did the same thing, It was working perfect until I changed the terminals(and yes I hooked up the battery correctly) I think I killed the 16g Fusable links I put in some how. Maybe just a bad connection.. then I again ive got loose wires everywhere .
