00 4runner will electronically unlock but not lock

The only way to lock all the locks are to manually push down each lock. But to unlock using the button on the door or the key will unlock the doors. What/where is the problem and what possible solutions are there?

I will take a stab at this...first off you have the key fob device right? So I think it says on the backside which system it is, RS3200 I think yours would be.

I think from there you do a search "RS3200" and you need to reset the memory for it.

I don't know the procedure but have seen it described before.

Don't hesitate to post up in the 3rd gen Runner section. People are nice on here and no one will rip you up for asking a legitimate question. Not too many folks hang out over here in General Electrical nor on Newbie Tech.

Good luck with this-it does not sound like much more than an inconvenience at this point so keep talking it out with us and we'll get you on the right path to a solution.

So I am about to purchase a new junction box to fix my problem and I had two questions I was hoping you might be able to help me with.
1. Do I get a junction box with or with an engine immbolizer?
2. Do you know of any write-ups or instructions on how to replace it so I dont have to pay a ridiculous amount at a dealership?

Here is where im getting it from:
