Yota1 Performance Engine & Machine Experiences?

Hi all,

Been looking at either buying a long block or buying a short block to build up into a complete engine to swap into my 1991 Toyota Pickup (22RE).

Anybody had experience with Yota1 as a business? They offer very fair prices and claim to use OEM components. All reviews I've read have been very positive but I haven't heard much about them (limited traffic about them on the forums when I searched).

Link to website: https://209yota1.com/

At the very least, if this is a reputable company that makes a quality product, they will get some positive media here!

Thanks!

I have the same question, planning on having them rebuild my 22re, because 22re performance has a 8 month wait. Nick at Yota1 has answered all my questions and being very patient. They claim to use all the same high quality parts as other well known shops and the stated machining tolerances are very good, + or - 0.0002" He claims to have built 10,000 engines or so, but I can't seem to find any information about them on the forums. Nothing bad but also nothing good, just nothing... anyone have one of their 10,000 engines?

Here is a update to this dinosaur thread. I got a stage 1 from Yota1 in Modesto. So far nothing but good things, The shop is large clean and well organized, and they work only on Toyota 4x4's. They stock multitude of OEM Toyota parts and are immensely knowledgeable. The engine looks fantastic, my only regret is trying to save a little money and opting out of the powder coated valve cover. I have yet to get the engine back in the truck as Im sorting out the last of the repairs in the engine bay.

Any updates on Yota 1's rebuilt 22RE options? My 89 Pickup started knocking the other day. Would love some info on Yota 1 rebuilds. I'm thinking about a stage 1 or stage 2 but cant' find any reviews or info on forums etc. Anyone want to chime in here on their experience with Yota 1 Performance's 22RE builds?

Yota1 appears to be a legitimate business specializing in Toyota engines, including the 22RE. Most reviews are positive, with customers praising their quality work, use of OEM components, and good communication. Some minor complaints exist, which is common for engine rebuild shops, but overall their reputation in the Toyota community is favorable. They offer warranties on their rebuilt engines, making them a reasonable option if you’re considering a long block or short block for your 1991 Toyota Pickup.
