Reputable company for crate motors/longblocks
Long story short im looking for a company that sells crate motors/long blocks. Did some research and what most people suggested on the forums is Sunwest, oregon engine builders and 22re performance. So basically thats what I narrowed my choices too. Ive heard good and bad things about both sunwest and orgeon, so far nothing bad about 22re performance. Anyone that has bought motors from these companies have any input? For example, how is the engine quality, any problems down the road, how long have you had the engine, etc etc. Even customer support issues. Also if there is any other place that I should check out?

Hows it going bud, I just recently got the Stage 2 motor from 22re performance.
I live in Sac, so I went and talked to him in person. He is one hell of a guy to talk to, doesnt try to hide anything. He gave me a tour of his shop, all the tools/machines he uses for the engine build; very intelligent and knows way too much about 22RE's haha. Jim was very patient with me with all my questions and whatnot.
So far my engine is running good, truck started right up during my first attempt. After the rebuild, I noticed this was one of the quietest 22RE's I have ever heard! I am still breaking in the engine as we speak, one thing for sure is that the Stage 2 is way more torquey than a stock 22RE. Compared it with my brother's '94 truck.
He is a little hard to get ahold of, but keep calling! lol leave messages.

There's a guy local here in Springfield area that built mine, cheap, $1000 or so, with a 3, yes three year warranty. No problems whatsoever. Had it 4 years now. I'll look his info up, have to find my receipt book, if you're interested. Been at it since the 20 series was new, he said.
