Wrecked 2nd gen UPDATE:Told Ins Co. to stuff it

... with the low ball offer.

Told them to do more research like I did. ( I feel like the cavman in the GEICO commercial )

I CANNOT replace it for less than $6500 with some in the area (Northern VA) going at $7k and even over $8k

I also pointed out that there is only one 5-speed availale within a 100 mile radius. Funny part is, it is marked down on value for being a 5-speed.

I also mentioned I have plenty of pics to show condition plus vehicle is availale on my drive anytime for an additional valuation.

I got time...... lets see how badly the want to clear this up.

David.

Dont let them shaft you. Keep fighting them and keep making more paperwork, until you get what you want!

Nice job David. Stay with it. Remember, insurance is a legal racket. They will do anything and everything to f-k you over. That's a fact.

Get all the receipts together (or get a quote) on all the mods you made and submit it to them. Make them say no - they're certainly not going to give you any more than you ask for.

Next round just over.... they did not change offer but asked for more info.

Me: So the fact my truck was immaculately maintained with records and using genuine Toyota parts makes no difference to the value ?

Allstate : Err, no, that just maintenance

Me: So, I can buy a car with a perfect maintenance record for the same or less than one that has had poor/no maintenance using sub standard parts ?

Allstate : Err, no again.

Me: So tell me again why having an perectly maintained vehicle with records and using genuine Toyota parts does not add value ?

Allstate : Err, I can't ?

Me: Go away and think about it for a while, Good day ! Click

Bunch of freakin bean-counting pin-heads...keep up the fight, bro! Threaten to hire an attorney to settle the matter on your behalf -- they hate that.

Ummmm I would not do that. They are likely to say "fine" and hold everything up forever pending paperwork back and forth, court, etc. You can resolve it faster by working with them - provide them all the info you can.

The insurance company can afford to put up a legal battle more easily than an individual can.

Yes the insurance company could put up for a high priced attorney, but they probably won't. At least that's been my experience, I hired an attorney to help me once with an auto insurance settlement. Before the attorney I was offered the book value minus depreciation and nothing for accessorys, and they keep the wreck. After the attorney I was called by the insurance company at least twice a day, with them upping the price. When it got to the point of almost double plus me keeping my vehicle I had to grab it. Of course my attorney said I was a fool, but kept my $350.00 fee. Just my experience though.
