winch and stock bumper
Does anyone have a good winch setup on a stock taco or 4r bumper? how strong is it and how recommended is it? i'm just curious to see how it looks. thanks!

Do a search for pix of Flamed4x4's truck (well, former truck). He had a pretty slick winch setup that looked great.
NOTE: you can't mount the winch to the stock bumper itself. You have to fabricate a tray to hold the winch that is attached to the frame.

There is also another 3rd gen runner on the boards with it done. However, he had fabricated a mount that resembles a lightbar in front of the bumper to keep the winch on. It looked very nice and clean. I'll see if I can dig up the picture of it on the boards.

warn makes the trans4mer which incorporates a brush guard. they seem fairly pricy though, and for that price, youre probably better off getting an arb or tjm
unless you want to keep the look of the stock bumper...then youd have to fabricate some mounts and strengthen up the front end to deal with the stress of winching...
