I know I haven't been around much lately... since I got rid of my 4Runner, I just don't have the passion for my truck.

But I'm still a truck guy, and I was reminded of that fact this weekend. Yesterday I met up with a buddy for 3 hours of trail work and 2 hour of mountain biking.

All loaded up for a day of trail work and riding. Let's see here... mountain bike, wheelbarrow, shovels, leaf rake, stone rake, axe, pick, tool box, boots, shoes, gloves, change of clothes, cycling shoes, hydration pack, cooler... and I'm sure there's more in there.




Same situation, different location. The above pic was taken in the parking lot. This pic is taken at the trailhead - getting doesn't need anything extensive, but it does need decent tires and 4wd. Fire roads get you most of the way, but then you have to get by/over all the downed trees, the mud holes, the dried creek beds, etc. Let's see a car get here.



I love having a truck.

That is nice. Many times I've wished I had a truck bed to throw muddy crap into. I wheel around with a friend of mine who has a Tundra and it proves to be a nice combination. He can keep tons of things in the back like boards (for getting over broken bridges, out of holes) and shovels (for digging out of holes) and the handiest thing - a chainsaw (for getting passed those trees you speak of). He's also got a truck-toolbox so he always has what we need. It's nice!

 

I should probably change my avatar...

No mods, at least nothing substantial. Maybe some seat covers, that's about it. When these tires die, I'll go with some ATs, but...
