Wheel Question
Anyone know how wide a tire I can run on a 8" rim?
I'd like to mount some 35x12.5" Goodyear MTR's on a factory alloy Toyota rim which happens to be 15x8". I have 15x10" steel rims now which work.
Anyone happen to be running a setup like this?

So... will a narrower rim have better bead retention on a 12.5" tire or worse?
Would the 10" rim with a 12.5" wide tire have a bigger footprint at lower PSI than a 8" rim with 12.5" tire?

I run 33x12.50's on an 8" rim, they worked perfectly. I actually prefer the look of a 12.50 on an 8" wide rim rather than a 10" wide rim, which seems a little too close to the width of the tire.

Mark is running those 36x13.5 Iroks on 15x8's...no issues at all.
Which Toyota alloys are you looking at? The ones that came on the 90-95 4runners/pickups with SR5 package? If so, I think those are 15x7 wheels. I would be cautious of the backspacing too.
