whats wrong with blocks

they suck.
jk even though they lift you, you get no added flex so they are pretty much pointless. i mean you can get bigger tires but your gonna flex out really fast and your truck wont perform much better than stock.

Ok so say I have leaf springs on blocks in the rear of my truck. (It was like that when I bought it.... I swear!) Would something like this replace those blocks?

If so, does it also replace the stock leaf springs, or just the blocks?

I had a pair crumble to peices while climbing a STEEP hill.
Well, you can imagine how not good that would be, right?
Trust me, IT SUCKED!!!!!
To the tune of:
Busted lift blocks and twisted u-bolts, snapped driveshaft, 35" tires bashed in both sides of the bed on my truck.
Add-a-leafs and new u-bolts to fix my suspension and a new rear driveshaft, body damage still there.
OH JOY!!!

"Blocks" should be wooden cubes with colored letters of the alphabet on them that little kids play with and chew on.
"Blocks" are a distance of measurement when traveling by foot or vehicle and a description used for directions.
"Blocks" minus the "s" goes with "head" for those that use blocks on wheeled 4x4s under their leaf springs.

get the right size springs in the first place and dont ever deal with blocks. they will screw with you springs and not to mention look like crap under any and all vehicles and help you in no way

I think that it is hillarious that all the guys that drive big powerful fullsize trucks will spend so much $$$$ on big lifts and 20" rims, all sorts of chrome accessories, and then skimp out and put big tall blocks under the rear springs on their trucks.

exactly!! that bugs me i bet they wouldnt get those dirty if someone paid them to. they would prolly be frustrated to have to drive over a gravel patch in a road work area. ive seen em with 26" rims and they still wrap them in m/t kinda tires its so stupid. those guys must have been dropped on their heads when they were babies!! im done. i can respect the fact that they put i lot of time and care into building those trucks up just like anyone else, it's just not my style and i think its gay (not literally).

i put 2" blocks in the back of mine because i needed the clearance immediately and they were all i could afford. Im switching to all pro 5 leafs as soon as possible, blocks are horrible, they add so much pressure and stress to the stock leafs they will eventually sag so much they bend the wrong direction all the time.

I will have to agree with Seafariman. Have you ever driven behind huge lifted trucks with 6"+ lift blocks under their rear leafs? Looks totally dangerous. Now imagine what can go wrong, especially while wheeling.
