Headers didn't change my exhaust note much, surprisingly.

Flows are NOT the loudest. When I had my Mustang GT, I had o/r h and flows and it was loud, and damn did it sound good. But there were several other 5.0's that had something different and were waaay louder then mine.

Ive head some louder ones than the flows, but they sounded like doodoo. For the money flows arnt that bad. They just look ugly when the outer shell starts rusing away.

Thanks for the input here! lol cherry bombs! It crossed my mind but im wanting quality with a reputable brand too. Whatever is loudest out the the ones in the poll is what im after.
I didnt see Flowmaster Road Thunders on their website but i think the 40 series is what i'll end up getting combined with Downey headers.

Back in the day i had a shop install exhaust with a flowmaster muffler on a 1983 V6 4x4 GMC Jimmy and i loved the way it sounded (clean & loud) but i cant remember what modle or size tubing i had...oh well
Hopefully i'll be happy with a Flow 40
Any more opinions?

I've got Doug Thorley headers and a Magnaflow on a short system on my 22r. If I mash it on a residental street I can almost garanty setting off a car alarm.

Plus i like deep, loud, and heavy sounding exhaust anyway
So...what exhaust system do you think would be loudest for my 3vz motor? Any reasons why?
Honestly, the cheaper the exhaust, the louder it will be, in most cases on the 4Runner. Less expensive mainly means they will be less restrictive, less material inside to muffle sound, cheaper to make.

My Vortex is pretty loud, louder than most, but sounds GREAT.

Mine sounds awesome with headers and a cat for a muffler. It was too quiet with flowmaster and cat.So i cut the flowmaster and put it on my bride's 4Runner!

i had mine straight piped for a while and it was really loud, poppy, and very ricey. Then i went with the flowmaster 40 series and it sounds perfect, exactly what i wanted, and i get a lot of compliments, its loud but not too loud and nice and deep for a V6. And i scored it for 40 bucks off of ebay.

If I keep my TRD around 1,500 Rpms, it'll set off alarms. It's actually more quiet at higher speeds. Gues sit has to do with the tone increasing from the looow drone.

Straight pipe no muffler, just kidding, FLOWMASTER or Spin tech if there still around. I had a Spin Tech and it was louder then the 2 stage Flowmaster and built just as well but I havn't seen them around lately so i got the Flowmaster.

im thinking of getting a flowmaster 50. ive heard putting a glasspack infront (closer to the engine) of the flowmaster muffler, would cut down on noise on the inside. true or false? also if i did this even if thats true or false what would happen?
