notice the cylinder? i drove the 4runner around a culdasac, onto a trailer, off of a trailer, let it idle for awhile to try and figure out what was wrong, then moved it to a different garage bay...as soon as i pulled that cylinder out..that little chunk came off haha
Wow, That piston snapped off like that above the ring?????? WOW, that could have been much worse, eh? lol.

Hey bud, .... Well, I don't have it in right now... I still have it, but I decided to fully break my SECOND IN 1.5 YEARS - motor in first with the stock set up. If I go back to it, it will be after that 5K....which is where I"ll probably switch to Synthetic as well. I'm hoping to yoink my trans around the same time for my first rebuild of a W56, lol. I did notice a lil gain on hills and top speed... but nothing major... except for the sound! lol. Oh, and it's an LCE CAI Kit with a really nice mounting bracket and inset allen screws, powdercoated 3" Stainless pipe and K&N filter. The one thing I did NOT like...... IT'S SO FREAKIN LOUD under the hood! I mean, it sounds like 300 people sucking on coffee straws all at the same time! lol.

PS>

Matstaley.... nice job!

My turn! Just ripped it out so my after pics will be coming "soon". I've yet to see a 22re with the color scheme I have in mind so I'm stoked!

This isn't mine (obviously) but it's one I did an inspection on and I thought it was interesting.

Just putting mine on display, progress half done under the hood

I hope to turn it over by the end of the weekend, tonight injector install after the sun goes down (wish I had a garage) sure going to be colorful and color coded (sort of) gotta be careful, note the blood/sweat mark/smudge in the upper left on the firewall..

Just a FYI, use the link below for your first start up and you won't have any issues as long as everything is assembled and connected properly;

Thanks for the info, I was going to jump in about halfway down

All of it looks good and this isn't a complete teardown, head remained, oil still in pan but very contaminated with a lot of water no doubt.
I'm guessing as this is my plan along with following this great link that the oil filter is angled so as it didn't accumulate water.
So before startup I'm going to drain the pan and leave the old filter. Add about 3 quarts of regular walmart 10/30 (blue bottles)
When satisfied completely drain it out, new filter and 5 quarts standard conventional oil.
I wouldn't do synth in this anyway, it's too old. I did use it in the Scion box for a while though.
Anyway, got the injectors in last night before the sun went down, not a big deal so long as you pay close attention and don't rush..
pic below, don't forget to cover(tape) the intakes so nothing "falls in"
Thanks all J

Ran great for 15 minutes, slight radiator or PS sprinkle, going back to it later
