Cupholder?
The one on the steering wheel or the one running the stick?
I wish my 81 cab was just a bit bigger so my seat back didn't have to be dead vertical.
Also, dislike that I've had it so long (since 94) that I'd never allow myself to sell it for something I fit in better.

I feel like the 87 4Runner acceleration isn't the greatest, but the 99 Runner is fine. So is the 87 pickup. I always figured it was the gearing in the 4Runner that didn't provide the acceleration the pickup does, and it's great for off-road and in snow, so I don't worry too much about it.
Besides, with the lower acceleration, I never managed to shove a drink straw up my wife's nose, like I did in the pickup all the time. She would always bring her drink up to take a sip right when the light changed. The 4Runner didn't have enough OOMPH to cause any straw aiming errors.

Just me, though.

Current truck is a 06 Taco DC 4X4. I don't like the peeling clear coat. Really inexcusable issue. Truck has been garaged all its life and gets waxed at least 4 times a year.
That and the fact the driver's seat lumbar support knob cuts into the upholstery and you end up with a big hole in the side.
As for design, I don't care for the look of the stock stereo. Later years (09+) are better.

It's funny that so many people complain about the location of the cup holders by the vent. Years ago I remember reading, I think in an early '90s Toyota pickup brochure, that the cup holders were placed there purposely so the A/C would keep your drink cold. I guess that was a good theory that failed in reality!
I have driven my '87 for many years and it is hard to find anything I don't like about it. A/C would be nice, but I always liked the easy access to the oil filter so I never installed it. My biggest complaint is finding restoration parts. I would be nice to have a supplier for our older Toyotas like LMC does for the American trucks.
I actually had more complaints with my 2nd gen Tacoma, including the same problem STC has. My '87 has been kept outside for well over 20 years and the paint is not perfect, but can still be polished up. I waxed and washed the Tacoma regularly, and the clear coat peeled off anyway after about 10 years. It was fairly reliable and got good mileage, but the electronic throttle delay drove me nuts the entire time I owned it.
