What color to paint 85 pickup?
Well the truck I recently purchased is in need of a new paint job. I have considered painting it myself but don't have the time or place. So plan to have it painted at beginning of new year. It has some minor surface rust so want to take care of it before it gets worse. I am thinking having the whole truck painted and leaving the bed unpainted since I plan to have that line-x. Is it better to wait to have the truck painted first then do the line-x?
Anyhow, the two colors I have come down to are the following:
Grey (Not sure on exact color code for this one)
If anyone knows please let me know

or
Sage-Tan (Color from 97 Land Cruiser)

I like both colors but wanted to get everyones opinion.
Thanks

I am leaning towards the grey more but trying to picture both the grey and sage color. If someone here w/ photoshop skills can photoshop my truck with both colors that would be awesome. I can post pic of the truck.
The grey I like overall. I figure it will match well w/ my grey interior.

In advance, I feel these might be a little misleading...the color swatch itself comes out a little different depending what part of the truck I select a sample from...and I'm not as good as this as I thought I was
Anyway, these should give you an idea...I hope they're at least a little helpful!
Here's the LC sage-tan color...

and the gun-metal gray looking:

Thats the Dark Gray of the older trucks, paint code 138

I can't find a sage-tan for 97 LC's, but I did find Antique Sage Pearl, code 1B2

Nick,
Yeah, I am still around. Sorry, been busy w/ new job. I am hoping at the beginning of the new year I will be able to get the paint job. I plan to go w/ the Grey color at this time. However, I saw a 1st gen 4R w/ the Antique Sage Pearl color the other day at a home depot and it looked great! I figure when I get closer to getting the paint job I will have my answer.
I appreciate you doing the photoshop! Gives me an idea of what I would like.
Thanks again!

I like the grey myself.
I'm going with white on my own. 1) it helps hide imperfections in the body work 2) it doesn't show dirt as badly 3) I got a gallon of DuPont fleet white paint, reducer and hardner for free and 4) It's white now so I'm already used to it and it is a lot cooler in the hot weather. I used to have a black truck, so I know this as fact.
