I looked at that dynomax super turbo, but the shop I went to in town sold me on a flowmaster 50 suv. It's a 2.5 in/out, but they tacked it right into my 2.25 setup. Way better. I can still hear it when I romp on it, pretty tame at cruise, and here is an ever so slight increase at 67 that disappears at 70. Dang, still gotta make those sound clips.

i would HATE to make the wrong decision :/

lol that sucks dude..
i just don't want to spend like $80 on a muffler....and it be quiet and me not like it![Frown](https://www.yotatech.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
i'd rather it be too loud than too quiet...might go with a 10series flowmaster

haha yeah and I want to get a high flow cat put on mine to make it quieter. but don't want it to hinder "performance". SO I am stuck $100 on a new cat or $100 on a magnaflow/flowmaster etc etc.

i would never buy a expencive muffler i came with the truck lol.
the last muffler i bought was for the 81 and it was a thrush turbo for 22 bucks lol
but i guess you get what you pay for because the magnaflow sounds ALOT better than the thrush lol

I dunno if this was mentioned already, but the length of the tailpipe and the amount of bends makes a difference. For example: my Blazer was super loud with the tailpipe off, but real quiet with it on.

ya i had a old flowmaster 40 series on my truck when i got it. the first thing i did was cut it off and put a dynomax on it. the flowmaster sounded like crap in the cab and the dynomax with no cat and a turndown had a pretty good tone but wasn't loud

I have a magnaflow that came with the downey kit. I'll have to measure how long it is.
The funny thing is, when this was my father's truck I made fun of him for complaining about how loud the exhaust was...5 years later and it's me who's complaining! LOL.

I hear ya. I bought K_Labs set up after he locked up his engine, a magnaflow high flow cat and a flowmaster 40 series with the dump right before the rear axle. I can set off car alarms at idle in parking lots. I need a new cat soon though, there was a nasty rattle in it the other day so I pulled it off and sure enough the honeycombing was knocking around inside of it. IT'S SO OBNOXIOUS! Seriously, I feel like just bolting in a test pipe and calling it good sometimes... Silly emissions laws, ruining all my fun
