Vortex and Cops in the city

Hi all
I received the Cherry Bomb Vortex muffler today but i just found out today that i can get stopped by the police for a loud muffler? (a cop friend told me)

I want to ask how loud it is?

I live in Chicago Suburbs and drive in the city and i pass through downtown now and then is it loud enough for a cop to notice?
Or if you are driving next to a cop or if he's behind you will he notice?
I usually don't go past 2500 rpm, how does it sound around there?

I've looked at all the Videos and listened to all the Audios, i still can't judge what the noise level will be in real life.
Thanks

I have a glasspack, which is louder then the vortex. I havnt had a problem with the noise law. Go to your local police station and find out the decible level thats legal. Im pretty sure it varies from state to state.

I really don't think you will have a problem.

I've had my votex on my 4runner for about a year now. I am very satisfied. I live about 5 hours south of Chicago and have visited my friends who live there quite a few times. I've been in front of and beside a cop and never even got a look. So I think you'll be fine.

on my 3.4 i would defiently consider it deep and smooth, but i never have gotten into any trouble with it and don't expect to. just dont floor it when u see an officer and you'll be fine

In the city you will be fine, Chicago coppers have much bigger issues to deal with. Now the burb's on the other hand is a whole different story, they will look for any excuse to pull you over. However I can't imagine that it will be loud enough to get you pulled over unless you are really getting on it. What burb you in?

I've got the 3.4L. I don't know how it would sound with the 2.7.

What suburbs are you in? I plan on getting the vortex too, but not until summer probably.

Oak Lawn, if you know it you will know how strict the cops are here
i dont want to be paranoid every time im next to one,
thats why im trying to see if its sound obviously loud or can it blend among V8,s on the streets.
