OK, so out of simple curiosity.......
Just noticed my 87 4wd truck has a cap on the power steering reservoir that is stamped "TOYODA"? This thing is heavy metal and deeply stamped, definitely from the factory and on purpose. I know the original name of the founders was spelled with a "D" but they company has always been Toyota with a "T" (thanks google!). What gives?

Topic covered every few months, a search would probably reveal the answer.

Actually those parts are made by a supplier/affiliate of Toyota called Toyoda Machine Works:

And Toyoda is making power steering pumps for GM as well:

And that is no different than other parts marked Aisin or Denso.
And Toyota is a sort of a westernized version of the founder's name, Toyoda:

thanks...tried the search, but I have dialup (remember that???) so it can get frustrating and searches on sites like this take FOREVER. Read the wiki, but didn't say anything about parts. Anyway, thanks again, just curious (as it appears many have been)
