Toyota Says I Need An Induction Service?

Its $75 and they say I ha e black soot and carbon deposit's. They say its a chemical they run through it. Sounds a lot like a fluffer charge and I'm paying $75 for a bottle of throttle body cleaner. I wanted the opinion of the vet's on here on how to proceed.

SeaFoam

SeaFoam works for me! Under $10 at most auto parts, blows the soot right out of the exhaust.

no reason besides carbon build up and soot. Also was there for an alignment and two hours later they come back telling me they can't align the truck unless I get a $350 rack and pinion replacement.

By the look of your runner, it's not a 95.5 + model. Only the 95.5 and newer models have a rack and pinion. Are you sure they didn't say a bad pitman or idler arm?

Do it yourself for sure. New air filter, clean MAF with MAF cleaner, clean TB with TB cleaner then run the seafoam

Do not let the TB cleaner in the Intake Air Control IAC, it's the opening infront of the TB butterfly

inject the 1/2 bottle of seafoam into the PVC vacume line. The truck will run rough, it is normal.

You may want to let the seafoam sit for 1 hour.

You will notice a difference if you do all that.

I did all this to mine a few weeks ago.

I like the seafoam but have only used it twice and will not use it again for two-three years.

If you only do one thing, clean the TB. best to take it all the way off the car if you can. Might as well throw on an o ring gasket while the TB is off.

Next best thing is to clean the MAF.

You may also want to check replace the PCV valve too.

Anybody try the new imitation Sea Foam?

I seen this stuff other day, so I went home and looked it up online. And, sure enough, it's basically the same as Sea Foam Motor Treatment just a slightly different recipe. But you're supposed to use it the same way.

CRC® Motor Treatment.
