Tinted windows at home?

Would it look good if I tinted my windows my self? with that kit at autozone or pepboys or even the internet?

depends....

how much patience do you have, and a dust free environment

I say go for it... i had good luck last time in parking lot, with wind, a few specks, but no bubbles....

as someone here referred me to.... www.tintdude.com

I tinted my old Tacoma's side windows with one of those kits. Looked good and lasted as long as I had it. You definately want to do it in a garage, keeps the breeze from spoiling your fun.

exactly... $14 or so for tint to do 2 windows, 10 for supplies, do it just for the sake of saying you tried... whatever

if its a rear (not very flat, or double curves) take it to a pro, that ˟˟˟˟ is bananas

if have some tint experence go for it, otherwise go to the pros, it will save you money in the end if you pay to do it yourself and end up going to them anyway

flat windows are easy. go for it. but have an extra hand around to hold the tint and spray it until all the dust is off. the dust bunnies are your worst enemy

If you plan on keeping your vehicel for an extended period of time it's worth it to pay a pro and get the lifetime warranty. I had some tint peel on my Eclipse's passenger window 10 years after the tint job and it was still covered even tho' the place was under new ownership and they did the driver's side too for free since the edge had potential to peel soon anyway.

why not, give it a shot. Even if it looks like crap...you can deal with it...or take it to the pro's, or just peel it opff, buy some more and try again.

Buy some large coffee filters, use them to wash and dry the widnows off as they leave no lint.

I did a home tint job (in my house) was very easy but you have to take your damn time and not rush it.. if that means doing one window a day so be it, dont rush it or it will look bad.

Are you patient? If not the pro's can have your whole car done in about an hour. IMHO it's worth the extra money as I have had my buddy who was a "pro" screw up my old Ford. It took my 4Runner to a shop near my house 20 minutes and $70 to do my front windows. Lifetime guarantee.
