Mine is/has been in the same place for 4 years...

found another, at 3am unfortunately. with the lights set to auto on (not just the headlights, but all of them) and the alarm activated. enter the passenger side with the remote unlock, got what i needed closed door and reset alarm. this was at 8pm. well the lights never auto-turned off they stayed on all night (where are those people who tell you that your lights are on). after a jumpstart i reconfirmed this. had to disconnect the battery to disable the alarm too.
have not tested whether this happens if the lights are not set to auto-on, but i usually drive with all of em on.

1. Found out that it may have been in a minor fender bender.

2. Found out that I should've gotten the 4wd. But then again, if I wanted to do some more serious wheeling, I suppose I could take the LC out.

3. Found out that I maybe should've gotten a 4 door Tacoma 4wd.

After about a year, I found out the front headrests can be tilted forward. Good for napping.

Still don't know what the little drop down door by the map light near the windshield is for? Way too small for a garage remote. Business card holder?

On my second gen the little drop down door is to cover the screw for handcranking the power moonroof. (It's in the owner's manual LOL)

1) I've found that if you dont have the tool to get your spare tire out you are not getting your spare tire out.

2) Changing the timing belt on a 3.4 is the opposite of fun.

3) I also still dont know what to do with the ECT button.

4) Avoid buying anything from the stealership.

5) The engineer at toyota that decided to put rear drum brakes on the 3rd gens is dead to me.

kurt,

ECT is used to hold the gears longer, in turn, this give you more power and better acceleration...mileage doesn't really suffer too much and you get quite a bit more power out of each gear.

Sorry for side-tracking the thread...
