Suspension questions
since i removed my lift blocks in the rear, covered up my frenched spring hangers, and hung my springs from the frame, rather than from inside the frame i have been encountering some strange noises.
1st of all the rear now sags.
2nd, it seems like my shocks are blown in the rear. when i go over a little bump or speed bump where the rear end drops a little, it hits really hard. it doesnt take anything at all, barely dropping it will make it slam.
3rdly, my rear springs were initially put on backwards. ive had them for almost a year, and they are still on there backwards. could them being broken in backwards have anything to do with the hitting noise or sag?
thanks!

Seems like you should be able to figure out whats up, especially if you were savvy enough to modify everything.
LIft blocks with coils? You mean spacers?
If it sags after removing the spacers, maybe you should put the spacers back in there...? Sounds like your shocks are bottoming out now.
Why move the spring mounts? It was a pretty good design the way it was.
Noises. Anything rub? Are the springs loose in their mounts? Are the mounts fairly square to the angle of the coils?
How about the angle of the shocks - did that change? Maybe the shock bushings are being stressed.
What do you mean by "backwards"? Do you mean upside down? Either way, the coils don't care if they are upside down or left and right. It won't lead to early fatigue.

Sounds like you have done a rear leaf spring swap, correct?
What is your pinion angle like?

Normally springs are installed so that the mil-wrapped spring eye is in the spring hanger in the frame. Pull your shocks off and test them by cycling them.
