I used to run with no sway bar a bunch with a 4" lift... It was very doable, but when the hwy miles started to tripple the city miles I bought discos, and put it back on. I wanted to be able to manuever aggressivly if I had to and stay as level as a toy on 33's would.... Makes all the difference...

Think of it like an olympic sprinter in high heels, ok maybe clogs.

So I guess the s/c is only fun going straight?

It's also fun bouncing up rocks (beware of ring gears!); tearing down gravel roads; blasting over sand dunes; scaring ricers in the next lane; beating ricers up a _twisting_ hill (did that last Thursday); blasting off other 4Runner people that snear at you on the road 'cause you're not as shiny (did that this morning)...
ya' gotta remember though that a 4Runner is inherently top heavy. Adding 2+ inches of lift makes that worse. Adding the _potential_ for _speed_ (not _power_) makes things even more interesting. Using the _power_ from a S/C is fun, using the _speed_ that you can get from a S/C is on the edge of dangerous.

Stupid and cool is right but that makes me hunger for more. Forget all the fancy stuff and lets see some straight-shot action with a lil' gear shifting. Taking off in a turn isn't showing a whole lot when your breaking ground here. Are those 33's? Sounds sick!

I dont think that has anything to do with the motor...sorry... I did that in my 95 runner with a 22RE, but I was able to get the front left about 2 feet in the air by doing a turn like that with gas. I blamed it on the rear coil suspension, and POS 3" rancho front. As soon as I did a leaf swap and a 4" PC I couldnt repeat it, and I tried... But once I knew I could do it with the coils I did it fairly often. It was kinda fun, and shocked the hell out of passengers..... But now I am older and wiser, and that was probally, like you said... stupid.... and cool
