Great stuff on plastic exterior trim especially my 3rd gen pre'00 fender flares.

Usually lasts about a month but sometimes lasts longer but an hour a month of work isn't bad keeping the trim looking new.

I use to use the Meguairs Tire Gel on the 4Runners tires, and then the stock tires that came on the FJ Cruiser.

Since I got the Dick Cepeks on there, I only use the tire foam spray now that is suppose to clean and protect, after I Ajax the crap out of the tires by hand first though with a scrub brush.
Any brand I see I pick up, they all work about the same.

I also shoot the fender flares with it and the rear bumper plastic, it works good.

I may have to try that stuff you got for the flares.
Being exposed to the sun/elements all the time it is good to take a preactive strike on damage setting into the flares and trim.

 

I tried the tire stuff too and it seem to not last as long and was making my flares have a drier/whitish appearance than the trim shine was leaving by the end of it's cycle.

I use the Meguire's Endurance gel on the tires and simple green to clean the interior before I use Meguires interior stuff which works great and doesn't leave a buidup.

I have the same flares & I use 303 Aerospace Protectant on them. It gives them a nice black shine that lasts a few weeks. My 4Runner is outside all the time so I have to coat them more often.

I pick it up at a local marine store, but I've seen it at certain auto parts places too. Here's the link to it:

I use it on the interior as too & it's worked well in my Corolla for the last few years. It leaves a matte finish that's not greasy.

I like the center caps on your wheels, did you paint the toyota symbol? I need to buy a new set, mine are all scuffed up and look like sh#t!

 

Yeah,I painted the caps a few weeks ago. I used Testors model paint in the small bottle as it fills up the "T" easily and my mistakes were easily removed with a light wipe of paint thinner. Then I clear coated over it.

I initially used OEM touch up paint but it was much harder to paint with and resisted regular paint thinner which made removing over-painting much harder.

 

Tire gel, foam and any other tire crap contains oil. Thats what makes it shiny..

Me, I leave mine be, outside all the time it will fade in a week anyways.

 

Mine's outside all day in the July sun and near 100F and I still see a month before I need to do them again;in the garage it can be over two months.

If you don't treat your plastic trim every once in a while with a non-silicon based trim restorer eventually it will really dry out and crack and lose it's flexability along with it.
