Softening up ride

I recently installed rear add a leafs in my 84 and i must say the ride is crazy stiff. I have the short type, i know they arent the best but im really short on cash and even shorter on time. I was just wondering if there is a simple way to make it ride a little smoother. Im starting to feel it in my back and neck. I dont really have time this year to do a chevy spring swap although i am planning on doing it next summer so i need something to get me by. Would removing a stock leaf from the pack help? or would that be a bad idea? My new box is considerably lighter than stock so that might be part of it. i dont know, but i do know its ALOT stiffer than it used to be.

thanks
adam

hmmm that would probably work pretty well. however there is a small problem with that idea. I dont have a floor made for my box yet. so i wouldnt be able to set any weight in it. unless i just toughed it out till i get a floor made.
