So.Cal. - OC Yota mechanics recommendations?
#1
GF borrowed my '91 3.slow and burnt up the motor. I'm thinking that w/ 180k miles on it, I'm best of buying a reman and dropping it in, but I'm not even a shadetree mechanic: the limits of my abilities are oil changes & lubing the driveshaft!
Anyone here have a mechanic they can recommend? Out of the classic "Good.Cheap.Fast: pick any 2" I need Good & Cheap! I can handle not having the truck [already done 2 mos. w/o it] since I normally ride my motorcycle everywhere, & save the truck for running errands & going camping. Luckily, the GF's car is back out of the shop (where it was when she was burning up the motor in my truck) so the errands issue is moot.
Any input gladly accepted!
TIA

As Jason said I got my engine replaced there. My family has been going there for 20 years. They are really good friends of ours. They'll treat you good and actually explain everything and not BS you.

my dads buddy owns a shop in laguna Niguel (off cabot road) and there is another one somewhere else. It is called amato tire and brakes I mostly deal with one mechanic though (Herb) they can fix or modify anything. he's fair honest and down to earth. But if purchasing tires match prices because he gets great deals on some tires and less than great deals on other ones <---Bfgs hope I could help
